New Zealand Pilot Expo 2007

[3 August 2007] [755 views] [No Comment]

The New Zealand pilot expo at Ardmore aerodrome hosted a range of piloting exhibits and seminars on everything from in-flight-management to mountain flying.

The seminars filled up quickly leaving less than standing room for latecomers.

The expo gave pilots and aircraft owner’s a unique hands on experience with a range of avionics to glass cockpits and GPS navigation systems.

We will defiantly be looking out for a repeat of this event in 2008 and hope that it becomes a large scale New Zealand Aviation Event

Wile trolling though the abundant supply of aviation videos on YouTube I came across this one. It’s a time laps of a 747 getting a new paint job.

Sikorsky Firefly: An Electric Helicopter.

It’s at nearly gross weight before the pilot steps in and can only fly for 15 minutes, but that’s not the point. Sikorsky Innovations sees the Firefly as a testbed for the technologies that may make for a real electric helicopter.
