AVEX Aviation Expo well supported

Planning is well underway for AVEX, the New Zealand National Aviation Expo, as organisers take advantage of the event management experience of Mystery Creek Events Centre and announce full support of the event from New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE).

AVEX Director, Wayne Green, says that NZTE’s support of AVEX highlights the importance of the aviation industry to the New Zealand economy and to our reputation as innovators and technology exporters.

“Aviation has been one of New Zealand’s quiet success stories,” he says. “But, our growing international reputation and exports of training, technology and componentry mean that aviation is firmly on NZTE’s radar as an export earner with huge potential. AVEX will showcase the industry to targeted industry visitors from New Zealand and overseas.”

AVEX will be held at Mystery Creek Events Centre, south of Hamilton, from 9-11 October 2008. The event is a trade show, designed to drive awareness and sales in New Zealand and overseas with displays of the latest technology and capability demonstrations that will also appeal to those outside the aviation industry.

Green says that Mystery Creek Events Centre’s experience in creating and delivering world-class events made it an ideal partner in managing this new event.

“The success of Mystery Creek Events Centre events including Fieldays and THE (Transport & Heavy Equipment) Expo in meeting the needs of both businesses and consumers is unparalleled,” he says. “That’s exactly the formula we are after for AVEX.”

AVEX will be held every two years and was developed as a trade expo following market research confirming the need for a prestigious showcase of New Zealand aviation technology, products and services.

In addition to NZTE and Mystery Creek Events Centre, AVEX is supported by Hamilton City Council, Waipa District Council, Katolyst Group, Zoom Digital Print and the AIA.

Sites are now on sale for AVEX, which will be free to attend. Further information is available at www.avex.co.nz.
