Book Launch – NZ Fighter Pilot Autobiography

Flight Lieutenant Alan Peart DFC, a New Zealand fighter ace, has recently published his autobiography and you are invited to attend the launch of the book in New Zealand.

There will be two events – one in Hamilton and one in Auckland – the attached flyer details where and when the events will take place.

It is likely that Alan’s book will be the last one published by a New Zealand ace since there are only about 11 aces still alive and as far is known none of the others intends to write their story.

Alan’s book was published in the UK and will not be generallyavailablefor sale in NZ but 200 books will be sold here as a special signed and numbered New Zealand release.

## Auckland – Sunday 17th August at 3.00 pm – Takapuna RSA Cnr Northcote Rd, Mary Poynton Cres, Takapuna (Upstairs lounge).

Books will be for sale at the launch events and Alan will beavailableto sign copies.

Alan will also give a talk and beavailableto answer questions.

This will be a rare opportunity to meet one of NZ’s remaining fighter aces and hear him talk about his experiences.

Furthermorewe are hoping to persuadeother distinguished guests to attend including two other NZ fighter aces and Ron Fulstow, NZ’s premier aviation artist.

A selection of paintings by Ron Fulstow will be on display including a recently completed painting of Alan in actionagainstthe Japanese Air Force over Burma.

This magnificent painting depicts an action over a forward air strip in Burma when Alan found himself alone with 20+ Japanese fighters. He survived a combat which lasted approximately 45 minutes.
