Discovery gets off to a good start.

NASA’s space shuttle Discovery lifts of on a mission to the International Space station.

The space shuttle Discovery is off on another adventure this time the crews task will involve installing a forth and final solar array.

The solar array will generate electricity to fully power science experiments and support the station’s expanded crew of six in May. The crew will also repair a device that converts urine to water.

STS-119 crew consist of Commander Lee Archambault, Pilot Tony Antonelli, Mission Specialists Joseph Acaba, John Phillips, Steve Swanson, Richard Arnold and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Koichi.

“It’s truly an honor to be part of this team representing NASA, the nation and the international partners,” Archambault said. “See you in a couple of weeks.”
