This morning around 1100hours the pilot of a light aircraft died when his aircraft crashed.
The crash happened in the Inangagua area on the West Coast of the South Island.
It was reported by police that emergency services rushed to the scene only to find the male occupant dead.
A press release issued by Inspector Rick Jury confirmed the pilot’s death.
The CAA has been advised of the incident.
