To make way for the Regional Lounge, Hangar No. 2 has been carefully dismantled. Before it was deconstructed a party was held to farewell the hangar which was attended by over 150 people who had worked in the hangar from the 1940′s to recent years.
At the end of November, the final stage of this deconstruction occurred when the front of the doors were lowered to the ground. In order to minimise dust, noise and danger, the doors were supported by three large diggers and successfully lowered most of the way.
