Fiji Airways and Jetstar Sign Codeshare Agreement.
7 December 2017: Fiji Airways (FJ), Fiji’s National Airline and low-cost airlines, Jetstar Airways (JQ) have signed a codeshare agreement for NZ domestic flights.
The codeshare, which is available for booking from 30 November 17 and effective for travel dates from 1 February 2018, will see Fiji Airways place their ‘FJ’ code on a range of Jetstar (JQ) services in New Zealand.
Mr. Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO said, “Last year we confirmed a third permanent service between Christchurch and Fiji, reinforcing our position as the only airline to fly to Fiji all year-round from the South Island. New Zealand is a key growth market for Fiji Airways so in terms of market share, this partnership will provide greater reach.
“For our customers, the frequency of Jetstar’s domestic flights within New Zealand gives them greater flexibility and choice when planning their trip to Fiji.”
“In addition, they can benefit from the convenience of purchasing through flights on their FJ flight number.”
The codeshare destinations are:
- Auckland – Wellington
- Auckland – Christchurch
- Christchurch – Auckland
- Christchurch – Wellington
- Wellington – Auckland
- Wellington – Christchurch
New Zealand travellers can book through https://www.fijiairways.com/ or via travel agents for flights from Thursday 30 November 2017 for travel from the 1st of February 2018.
Fiji Airways currently operates 15 flights a week between New Zealand and Fiji, which includes three weekly services between Christchurch and Nadi, (flight time of under four hours).
